Sketchbook Pages

Here are some of my sketchbook pages so far and some experiments that I've done over the past few weeks:
I've mostly been creating portraits as I've been looking at the different ways that people present themselves.

Initial Ideas!

From using a filter my phone I've created some different pop art like pieces that I think work quite well but I feel they could look better if they were printed, which is something I plan to investigate later.

Watchable

One idea that I've been working on today is the idea that we're constantly watched in non-place. With camera, CCTV, geo-tracking on our phones, credit card records. So I'm thinking that I want to create something with that idea.
These pieces were based off of the Big Brother logo, and I wanted to keep them quite abstract and geometric to match the typically non-place style.

From it I've came up with these little creatures which I think look quite eerie and go with the idea of being watched.

Collages

I've been working on different collages but using Photoshop rather than cutting up the images and I really like they way that they look.
These are the sketchbook pages depicting this colleges.

Portraits

I've been looking into some different ways of making portraits, different styles, colours and medias. I can't decide if I want to include a self portrait or leave it to just my Brother, Dad and Grandad.

Post cards

Here's some of the investigations that I have done into post cards. The thing that I'm worried about is the size as postcards tend to be a certain size. However the pictures that I use might end up to cramped or busy which I don't want. Although increasing the size might make it less obvious that they are postcards.

Some Sketchbook pages

These are some of the first drawings that I didn't after coming back from Edinburgh. I was really inspired by the architecture of the city.

Working, working, working!

Been busy this week creating prints and stencils for my new final piece! I'm really happy with how it's coming along, I love the bright colours. The only thing is I need to make sure all the colours actually represent something and aren't just here for the sake of it.

Art student blues

Putting all my sketchbook pages into the right order. Fun, fun, fun!

Week beginning 3rd March

So we started this week off by giving presentations based on the analysis techniques that we learned last week. Seems PowerPoint just hates me as it deleted some of my text for no reason what so ever it seemed but other than that I think it went not to badly. I think I'm getting better at presentations and I'm not as nervous with what I'm saying.

Tuesday was really good as we learned how to stretch canvases and different methods of sealing them. We made lots of different samples and we are going paint them the following week. Then in the afternoon we continued with Pathways.

Friday we got feedback on our critical reviews I think I did not to badly and I now know the areas that I need to work on. In Dee's class we worked on illustrator and photoshop and learned how to create repeat patterns, whichwas  pretty cool.

Over the weekend I worked on my pathways sketchbook as that's due on Tuesday.

Sketchbook

Just been continuing with my sketchbook. I'm really enjoying the theme 'Road work or Artwork?' It's given me a lot of ideas.
